Last week, I was privileged to attend the ARACY Conference held here in Melbourne on Parent Engagement. 600 people from around the world came together united in their beliefs, knowledge, experience and their desire to learn more about the importance of family engagement in learning........On behalf of the Year 9 CAP class we would like to thank everyone for their contributions to the blanket and towel drive. We have received a lot of donations which will be going towards charities and animal shelters.
By Nirmal Vijay and Tom Matthews Last year Jemima was a Social Justice Leader at her primary school, St Bernards in East Coburg, Melbourne, where she decided to run a ‘Coat Drive’ collecting coats and winter woollies for the homeless, refugees and also for women and children at a local shelter...........This term the Gold House Cluster (Francis, Assisi, Clare, Anthony and Geoghegan) are aiming to raise money for the 100 girls of the St Dominic Savio Orphanage, Venilale, Timor Leste, in order to provide financial support to purchase a pair of shoes for each girl. The money raised will be sent to the Orphanage, so that the shoes are purchased in East Timor from local providers. This will not only give the girls a pair of much needed shoes, but will put the money will go into their economy, promoting local businesses.
