After research and consultation with students, teachers, learning leaders, industry and education leaders, the following laptop models have been selected for use by Year 7-9 students:

  • Lenovo ThinkPad 11e Yoga 6th Gen (Touch screen windows version not the Chromebook version)
  • Lenovo ThinkPad L13 Yoga (Touch screen with Stylus)
  • Apple MacBook Air 13" (Without or with touch bar)

Please note students are unable to use Android tablets, iPads and Google Chromebooks as their College device.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

We advise parents to shop around when buying these prescribed devices, to find the best rate and to see whether any of these three models are on special. We strongly suggest that when purchasing your device you also get accidental insurance coverage for the device, from either the computer retailer or your insurance company.

We have set up a shortcut for parents with EduNet, a company in Mornington that can supply these laptops. To be fully transparent, Padua does not get a commission from this company, nor do we receive any benefits from this arrangement. Please shop around for the best retailer for your family.

To review and possibly purchase devices, visit EduNet's website for Padua’s families:

Year 10-12

The Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program at Padua remains unchanged. That is, students can use any device to do work at the College excluding mobile phones, Android tablets, iPads and Google Chromebooks devices.

Whilst not mandatory, if you choose to purchase a new laptop we do recommend that students purchase one of the devices listed above including three-year accidental coverage protection.

If you have any questions about the program or the devices, please feel free to contact us via phone or email.
