Our College was founded by the Sisters of Mercy and is named after St Anthony of Padua. In partnership with our students, staff, parents, parishes and the wider community, Padua College gives witness to the Christian faith in our Catholic tradition. We aim to be a positive, creative, hope-filled learning community where Catholic values and spirit are shared and the sacred dignity of each person is nurtured.

Our Core Values:

We welcome and affirm
We inspire growth of the whole person
We create a love of learning
We build positive relationships
We embrace diversity
We show compassion for those in need
We reconcile and forgive
We work for a just and peaceful world

Fundraising & Social Justice Initiatives

Padua College is committed to the education of the whole person since in Jesus Christ all human values find their fulfilment and unity: “herein lies the specific Catholic character of the school”. Christ is “the centre and fulcrum of the entire enterprise” and “the standard and measure of a school’s Catholicity”.

A focus on social justice provides an appropriate context to re-examine commitment to the Church’s mission and identity. Social action and fundraising are opportunities for staff, students and families at Padua College to show concern and solidarity for social justice in our world.

St Anthony of Padua

Padua College is named in honour of St Anthony of Padua, who was born in Portugal in 1195. He worked and taught throughout Italy and was a man of the people. As a leader of the masses, St Anthony had enthusiasm, zeal, prophetic eloquence and a spirit of charity for all. He lived an exemplary life and died in 1231 at the age of 36.

St Anthony is a wonderful role model and a source of inspiration to all students at Padua College. He inspires us to help the poor and downtrodden, to stand up for the rights of others, and to live out the values of Christ in our daily lives.

The Padua College logo and crest are based on the image of St Anthony with the infant Jesus. To see how this was developed, please download this PDF. Padua College Logo Evolution
