Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,

As stated in my communication to families over the weekend, it is so wonderful to have all students back onsite! Staff and students are enjoying being back together again and are happy that things are returning to an ‘altered form of normal’.

Online Parent Forum

Families will have also noted in my communications the online Parent Forum to be held this week on Thursday 18 June, commencing at 7pm. I encourage all parents and guardians to join the Forum as we discuss our experiences from remote learning, our return to onsite learning and what we want to take with us moving forward. All the details for the online Parent Forum can be found at the following link: https://sites.google.com/padua.vic.edu.au/parents/parent-forum-video-stream.

End of Term

I remind families that tomorrow, Friday 19 June Report Writing Day for all teaching staff and there will be no scheduled classes on this day. Students should use this time to complete homework or catch up on any outstanding assessments.

As this is the last Paduan for the term, I wish all families a restful and peaceful holiday break. This has certainly been a most unusual semester and I’m sure all students will be looking forward to a break and a chance to refresh and re-charge for term 3.

I would particularly like to wish our Padua College staff well as they head into the end of term. Our staff have worked incredibly hard over recent months to ensure that the learning for our students continues in a meaningful way. They have done an outstanding job and I wish them all a wonderful break.

Staff and Community News

I extend my congratulations to Mrs Shelley Iles on her appointment to the role of Business Manager at St John’s College, Dandenong. Shelley will be leaving Padua College at the end of this term and I’m sure all staff will join me in wishing her well. Shelley has been an outstanding and important member of the Administration/Finance team at the College for 12 years and has played a major part in the last few years in the development of the College Mornington Masterplan and the completion of Stage One of this Masterplan (Whyte Senior Learning Centre). We will soon begin the process of finding a replacement for Shelley.

As noted in a previous edition of The Paduan, Mrs Lynne Morris (T) will conclude her teaching duties at the end of term 2 and her resignation will come into effect after a period of Long Service Leave. I extend my best wishes to Lynne.

Congratulations to Mr Marcus Butler (M) and his wife Jenny on the birth of baby boy Reuben George recently.

Kind regards and God Bless,

Anthony Banks
Principal

Prayer

This week we are celebrating St Anthony of Padua’s Feast Day, which was on 13 June.

This is our St Anthony Prayer in our Padua College Year of Light.

ST ANTHONY PRAYER

We pray for all students, staff and families in our Padua school community

that we might seek to live the example that St Anthony of Padua is to us all.

The light of God’s truth shone brightly in his heart,

flowing over into the passion of his preaching

and the love with which he met all people,

particularly the poor and dispirited.

May the same light shine in us and our school community throughout this year,

and in everything we do as a school community blessed by his name.

Amen
