Vice Principal's Report

We have almost completed the first fortnight with classes at Padua running in a familiar pattern. We are still not gathering students in larger numbers for assemblies and the like, and excursions and other activities are still on hold, but it does feel like a school again. And what a wonderful feeling that is for the students we are seeing, for the staff, and I’m sure for many parents!

‘Engage, Consult, Advise’ Online Parent Forum

As glad as we are to be teaching in classrooms again, we don’t want to lose the opportunity to learn from and incorporate the positive experience of working and teaching remotely. The College Improvement Team is therefore running an online Parent Forum today Thursday 18 June at 7.00pm. The Forum is accessible via the following link: https://sites.google.com/padua.vic.edu.au/parents/parent-forum-video-stream and a recording of this session will be available via the same link if you are reading this after Thursday.

Padua Parent Group

We are now looking at more specific plans for the Parent Group to meet in term three. It is possible we could ‘meet’ with those who can come to the College as well as an online option for other parents. Stay tuned. In terms of our normal main activities, we can say the following …

Engage, Consult, Advise Evenings
The first of these is advertised above. We will evaluate the effectiveness of this format and then discuss possibilities with the Parent Group. This is a review year for Padua College, and so further ‘ECA’ evenings may well focus on school review and the development of the School Improvement Plan for 2021-4.

Cooking Evenings
These will begin as early as possible in term three, but restrictions will need to apply in terms of numbers gathered in the kitchens.

Parent Forum
Our first ‘ECA’ on-line session this Thursday will also provide us with possibilities of running the Parent Forum we usually hold in August/September in a different way, with more online options. Again this will need to be addressed at our first meeting.

Spirituality Evening
As with the Parent Forum above, we will discuss this at our first meeting.

Arthurs Seat Challenge
The ASC has been cancelled for this year. Sadly no 7am BBQ responsibilities needed!

Please stay tuned to this page for updates. If you would like to receive emails related to the planning of these events and the work of the Parent Group, please drop us a line on the contacts below.

Meals for Families

We are all concerned about the many families in our Padua community who are finding things tough at the moment, particularly where employment issues are present. If you know of any families in our community who are in need of significant support, please feel free to email me to let the College know mharrison@padua.vic.edu.au .

Contact Details

Please contact Michael Harrison (mharrison@padua.vic.edu.au) or Sarah Hansen (shansen@padua.vic.edu.au ) regarding any of the requests, events or information on this page.

Thank you!
