Co-Director of Campus Report

We have been working online now for four weeks. It is fair to say that some students are adapting to the associated challenges better than others. Working online provides many challenges to teachers, students and parents. Teachers have worked incredibly hard to modify their teaching to cater for an online platform. Students are working without the support that a classroom environment provides from their teachers and their peers. Many parents have adjusted their own routines to provide assistance and support for their children. For this, we are truly grateful and it reinforces that as a community we need to continue to support each other.

Students, please help your teachers by making sure that you carefully check your emails and all classroom instructions before asking for assistance. Your teachers want to help but need you to take the initiative to look at what information has been given to you prior to class. We encourage all parents to contact the homeroom teacher, House Co-ordinator, Mrs Modd or ourselves if you or your child needs any support or assistance.

Hopefully you have taken the time to view our online campus assemblies that take place every Friday morning at 8:50am. We really miss the staff/student connectedness that homeroom, classrooms and assemblies provide in celebrating our gifts and building our community.

Thank you to everyone who sent in photos of their pets and sunrise/sunsets. We wish to congratulate the following students and staff members:

Prizes will be announced shortly!

In closing, a timely reminder to apply the elements of ‘grit’, ‘passion and persistence applied to long-term achievement’. The concept of ‘grit’ is embedded in our College motto ‘Perseverance Conquers All’.

We are still unsure of when we will be back to a ‘normal’ school day but we look forward to that time and all that it brings… noise, creativity, walking between classes, school uniforms, co-curricular opportunities, mateship… the list goes on!

In the meantime, all the best with persevering through this challenging time.

God Bless,

Phillip Helisma

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability

The Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD) counts the number of students who receive additional adjustments or “help” at school because of a disability. The NCCD helps governments plan for the needs of students with disability and schools are required to submit this annually.
