Thank you again to all our wonderful Padua parents. It continues to be a strange time for us all as we negotiate our way through the challenges of the present moment, and we are so grateful for the support of parents and families as we work in partnership to continue the education of our students in this new online format. We know that there must be many frustrations and annoyances along with the moments of family joy and amusement… or is that bemusement? Thank you for all you are doing.
There is a survey going out this week to the College community seeking feedback as to how things are going. If you have the chance, we would really appreciate your perspective on what is going well and how we can improve.
We are concerned about the families in our Padua community who are finding things tough at the moment, particularly where employment issues are present. If you know of any families in our community who are in need of significant support, please feel free to email me to let the college know mharrison@padua.vic.edu.au .
Our IT Department have set up a specific resource to support you as parents. We know you will continue to have many new questions about IT at Padua that need to be answered, particularly related to PAM. Please have a look at the site, and come back to it regularly https://sites.google.com/padua.vic.edu.au/parents/home
Parents can also access the resource through PAM.
Our remote learning program is being delivered offsite via College-approved platforms. All notices and feedback are to be provided through SIMON (and PAM for parents). Information regarding remote learning can be found in the Remote Learning PDFs on the Padua College website or via the links at the bottom of this page.
The implications of coronavirus for the practical arrangements within our families, school and community are certainly front and centre at the moment. There are many practical issues we have to consider. But there are also concerns related to our emotional wellbeing that play in the background, perhaps pushed aside because of the immediate practicalities that have to be met. The following information might be useful for parents.

SchoolsTV includes a ‘Special Report’ on the effect of the issue on families. The resource also has a whole range of other material written for families with comprehensive videos and resources from leading specialists and organisations. To access the resource go to http://padua.catholic.schooltv.me/category-latest-newsletter
At this stage it is not possible to set meeting or event dates until we have been given the all-clear to gather in groups, large or small, again.
The following activities are planned for this year, but we will have to wait to see what limitations will still be in place once restrictions are eased:
• Parent Forum
• Cooking Evenings
• Engage, Consult, Advise Evenings
• Spirituality Evening
• Arthurs Seat Challenge
Please stay tuned to this page for updates. If you would like to receive emails related to the planning of these events and the work of the Parent Group, please drop us a line via the contacts below.
Please contact Michael Harrison (mharrison@padua.vic.edu.au) or Sarah Hansen (shansen@padua.vic.edu.au ) regarding any of the requests, events or information on this page. Thank you!
