It is an interesting time in our Padua households as parents, students, siblings (and pets!) adjust to a new way of learning. It is everybody’s wish that we get back to normal schooling sooner rather than later, but in the meantime it is fantastic to see the way the whole school community has come together to make the best of it. It is together in partnership that we will support each other successfully through to the other side, and together we will almost certainly learn some useful and valuable lessons along the way.
Great news for all parents… you now have your own Padua Helpdesk.
Our IT Department have been working overtime over the past weeks to get the online learning structures up and running, and we thank them for the amazing job that they have done.
Over the past week they have set their sights on assisting parents. We know you will have many new questions about IT at Padua that need to be answered, particularly related to PAM. Please have a look at the site, and come back to it regularly.

Parents can also access the resource through PAM …
Please remember that it is easy to reset PAM passwords if you get stuck.

Our remote learning program is being delivered offsite via College-approved platforms. All notices and feedback are to be provided through SIMON (and PAM for parents). Information regarding remote learning can be found in the Remote Learning PDFs on the Padua College website or via the links at the bottom of this page.
The implications of coronavirus for the practical arrangements within our families, school and community are certainly front and centre at the moment. There are many practical issues we have to consider. But there are also concerns related to our emotional wellbeing that play in the background, perhaps pushed aside because of the immediate practicalities that have to be met. The following information might be useful for parents.

SchoolsTV includes a ‘Special Report’ on the effect of the issue on families. The resource also has a whole range of other material written for families with comprehensive videos and resources from leading specialists and organisations. At this stage it is not possible to set meeting or event dates until we have been given the all-clear to gather in groups, large or small, again.
The following activities are planned for this year, but we will have to wait to see what limitations will still be in place once restrictions are eased:
• Parent Forum
• Cooking Evenings
• Engage, Consult, Advise Evenings
• Spirituality Evening
• Arthurs Seat Challenge
Please stay tuned to this page for updates. If you would like to receive emails related to the planning of these events and the work of the Parent Group, please drop us a line via the contacts below.
