Year 7 Camp

Last week all our Year 7 students attended camp at Ferngully Lodge in Healesville. There were many opportunities for students to make friends as they took part in a range of activities. It was great to see them move out of their comfort zones as they tackled the giant swing, the high ropes course and the zip line. On the first evening, students and staff had the wonderful experience of community as they shared in a liturgy with Father Michael and on Wednesday Mr Gleeson lead a short Ash Wednesday service. The camp concluded with a visit to the Healesville Sanctuary which was a highlight for many. A big thank you to all staff that attended the camp and provided our students with such a positive experience.

Ash Wednesday

Thank you to Ms Annemarie Wilkinson and our social justice leaders for putting together a wonderful Ash Wednesday liturgy. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent in the Catholic tradition and our liturgy last week provided an opportunity for prayer, reflection and reconciliation.

Uniform

We met with all our girls yesterday to clarify the College policy regarding jewellery. There have been a number of girls with nose piercings and extra ear piercings. Our policy states:

  • One earring per ear in the ear lobe (small stud or sleeper). No other jewellery is permitted and clear plastic studs and band aids to cover piercings are not permitted. Excess jewellery will be confiscated.
  • Make up is to be kept to a minimum and must be natural looking.
  • Clear nail polish is permitted.

Parental support in ensuring that our students meet the uniform requirements is greatly appreciated.

Student Voice

Year 7 leadership provides a platform for student voice. The process for selecting Year 7 leaders is underway. We encourage all students to think about what they could contribute to our Tyabb Campus through leadership.

Swimming Carnival

Congratulations to Doyle House on winning the Tyabb House Swimming Carnival last Friday 21 February. Our Tyabb students participated with great House spirit in less than ideal weather conditions and we wish to congratulate Brydie Pratt, Overall Fastest Female Swimmer, on completing the 50m freestyle event in 31.5s and Corey Lionnet, Overall Fastest Male Swimmer, who achieved a time of 32.75s.
