The Padua Parent Group held their first meeting for the year this week at the St Clare Centre on the Mornington Campus. Thanks to all who attended, and it was wonderful to welcome new faces to the group.
After welcoming the new members and outlining the purpose of the group, we discussed the following areas of College life:
• 2020 College focus and the development of the 2021-2024 School Improvement Plan
• The Catholic identity of the College
• The College focus on developing a culture of excellence, and the Learning and Teaching Framework which will assist this.
• Uniform & student socials in the Senior Campus
• Parent engagement in general, and the plan to have Parent House Liaisons on the 7-9 Campuses
We then considered the following activities in plan for the year:
• Parent Forum
• Cooking Evenings
• Engage, Consult, Advise Evenings
• Spirituality Evening
• Arthurs Seat Challenge
It was a productive and engaging discussion (helped along by some pre-meeting drinks and nibbles!). Minutes of the meeting will be available on the College website soon.
One event we need to begin planning soon is the Parent Forum which we traditionally hold in term three. Please let us know if there are areas or topics you would be interested in exploring in the forum this year, or if you have heard a particularly inspiring speaker in a relevant area who you think would be great for our parents. Please see contact details below.
A group of parents represented the Padua parent body at the Mornington Rotary International Women’s Day Breakfast this week. It was a wonderful event and great thanks to all who attended.
We are hoping to enlist parent help on the BBQ at our Twilight Open Days on the following dates:
• Rosebud or Tyabb Campus on Wednesday 11 March from 3:30-6:30pm
• Mornington Campus on Thursday 12 March from 3:30-6:30pm
If you are able to assist any time on these afternoons, we would be very grateful. Please again contact either Sarah or Michael. See below for details.
Please contact Sarah Hansen (shansen@padua.vic.edu.au ) or Michael Harrison (mharrison@padua.vic.edu.au) regarding any of the requests, events or information on this page. Thankyou!
In the next edition of the Paduan, we will provide dates for activities for the year. Stay tuned!
