Our Careers staff have been meeting with Year 12 students to continue discussions for their future pathways and we encourage any students who have not made their appointments to do so as soon as possible before the end of term.
Engineering Tours at Monash University
Students interested in studying Engineering can see the fantastic facilities up close on special guided tours on March 30 and April 6. There will also be an opportunity to speak to current students about what it’s really like to study Engineering, view projects that student teams are working on and explore the new Maker Space and innovative Woodside Building for Technology and Design. Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University
Students who would like to study a health profession (Medicine, Nursing or Allied Health) can find out what it is like and how to apply at Monash’s regional clinical training sites: Bendigo in March, and Traralgon and Mildura in April. You will get a taste of their regional facilities. Admissions and teaching staff and current medical students will be on-hand to answer questions about entry requirements, rural entry schemes and what it’s like studying in regional Victoria. UCAT – Entry to Medicine in 2021
Year 12 students planning to apply for university courses in Medicine or Dentistry, are reminded that registrations for the UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) open on 2 March 2020 and close 11 May 2020. The testing dates will be in the month of July 2020. A reminder that students who are preparing for entry into any of these courses are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the format of the test at UCAT test format and the practice tests and preparation material provided at UCAT Preparation.
Nursing – Holmsglen Moorabbin Open Day
Holmesglen's health precinct at their Moorabbin Campus has invested over $5 million to create the highest standard of health training equipment and facilities in Victoria. With dedicated nursing wards and a simulation centre, you will spend a lot of your time simulating real nursing practices in a safe learning environment. Visit the Moorabbin facility on Thursday 12 March at 4.30pm for a presentation highlighting course information and career opportunities followed by a tour of the simulated nursing facilities.
The Holmesglen Moorabbin Campus is situated at 488 South Road, Moorabbin.
