Trocaire Award Winners

The Trocaire (pronounced Trocara) Award, seeks to recognise students who exhibit a willingness to work in the spirit of their House for other members of the Padua College community or for the broader community in general. The word Trocaire is taken from the Irish and means compassion. Nominations for these awards come from House Co ordinators. We congratulate the following Trocaire award winners:

For being an outstanding House Captain, taking the initiative and being so organised at our weekly meetings.

Sasha Van Der Linden Year 9 Cardijn

For their excellent start to the year as Cardijn House Captains. Both girls provide a fine example to the other members of Cardijn and the Tyabb Padua community.

Colleen Duyvestyn Year 9 Mannix

For exemplifying the Padua motto “Perseverance conquers all”. Colleen takes all challenges in her stride with a large smile and ‘can do’ attitude. Truly a student to look up to as a role model.

Cassie McCarthy Year 9 McAuley House

For sports leadership shown at our recent swim carnival. Cassie led by example, often in the pool competing, but also pool side encouraging McAuley student participation.

Jarrod Musticone Year 12 Djeembana

Jarrod is consistently offering to help and support those around him, be it friend, peer or staff member. He is willing to engage positively with everyone and lights up the room. On our Year 12 Retreat he demonstrated compassion and whenever we needed help, he was there to lend a hand.

Lucy Steenholdt Year 12 Francis

Lucy was nominated by a number of Francis homeroom teachers due to her commitment to varied extra-curricular activities, both within the Padua community and externally. She does well to maintain the important balance between her school work and sport. Lucy always wears her uniform with pride and makes a concerted effort to be respectful to both staff and her peers alike. She is the model student at Padua College.

Antony Brun Year 12 Merton

Antony is a hard working student who always shows care and responsibility for those around him.
