2020 Welcome Assembly
On Tuesday 11 February, 2,500 students and over 200 staff gathered at our Mornington Campus to welcome the Year 7s into the Padua community and to celebrate the academic achievements of our 2019 VCE students.
Reflecting on the College theme of 'Light' this year, Principal Anthony Banks challenged those gathered to use their talents and gifts to give 100% effort to their studies, relationships and extracurricular activities in 2020. “By striving to be our best, we are effectively shining our light and providing others with the inspiration and courage to do the same,” he explained.
Dux of 2019, Ryan De Ruyter, was invited to share the story of his Year 12 journey, providing both inspiration and advice on how to utilise and build skills to overcome challenges and achieve success. “It is never too late to try and turn around your marks,” he urged. “If you keep working at it and trying, there is nothing you cannot do!”
Having achieved a study score of 42 for Biology in 2018 whilst in Year 11, Ryan undertook English, Italian, Specialist Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, Chemistry and Peace and Justice in 2019, and received an ATAR of 97.8. He has been accepted into an undergraduate Biomedical Science Degree at Monash University, which was his first preference, and we wish him well as he embarks on a new chapter of learning.
We wish all of our students the very best in their endeavors this year and look forward to supporting them in overcoming obstacles, helping them to shine and celebrating their success.
School Photo Orders – Update!
The Padua College annual school photos have been taken and are now ready to order.
Arthur Reed Photos uses an online ordering system where you can view your photos prior to ordering.
All students should have received a flyer from their homeroom teacher, which includes a code unique to them. You will require this 2020 code to register online and view your photos.
If you have already registered, you will receive an email or SMS from Arthur Reed Photos with a link to view your photos. If you have not yet registered, please go to order.arphotos.com.au and enter your code to complete your order.

All photo packages are being sent home in 2020, so please ensure that you enter the correct details and nominated shipping address upon checkout.
