The Opening Mass will be held Thursday 20 February at 7.30pm at our Mornington Campus. This is always a wonderful occasion as we celebrate the beginning of a new school year and all are welcome to our celebration.
Our Year 7s and students new to the college in other year levels will be attending with their families to be acknowledged as new members of our community and to receive a blessing for their time with us. Year 7 students will sit with their House Co-ordinator and homeroom teacher at the front of the congregation.
In addition, all student leaders in any capacity on each of the campuses will be present to take their leadership pledge and receive a blessing for their work.
We greatly look forward to seeing everyone on the night.
An Ash Wednesday liturgy will be celebrated with students and staff on each of our campuses next week. Ash Wednesday begins the Season of Lent in the Catholic Church, when we are encouraged to reflect on our lives individually and as a community, and to pray for the strength and courage to embrace Jesus’ challenge to live with justice, compassion and love.
Ash Wednesday also launches Project Compassion, the major fundraising campaign for Caritas Australia, an organisation which helps so many communities throughout Australia and the world. Please take the opportunity to give generously. Visit the Project Compassion website for more information.
