Vice Principal's Report

As the COVID-19 numbers begin to look more positive, we are hopeful that we will see the students back at the start of (or soon thereafter) of term four. Everyone at this stage has their collective fingers crossed!

We continue to pray for the many families who are affected, and will continue to be affected for some time to come. Together in partnership we will work through this. Please let us know if there are things we can do to help.

Family COVID-19 Information

Padua subscribes to SchoolTV which has just created a special report video as part of its Coronavirus series. In the presentation, Riding the Corona Coaster, Dr Michael Carr-Gregg explores how the uncertainty of not knowing what will happen next can impact students, families and staff in school communities, and provides tips for parents/carers on looking after their wellbeing during this challenging time. Family Support

We are all concerned about the many families in our Padua community who are finding things tough at the moment, particularly where employment issues are present.

If you are able and would like to support families in our community, some of our staff have set up a system of donating food store vouchers (Coles, Woolies, IGA, Aldi) for families, and these have been very useful in allowing families to buy what they need at the time. Unfortunately you can’t take these to our campuses at the moment, so if you would like to contribute to this initiative, please post (yes … remember those local mailboxes?) to:

If you know of any families in our community who are in need of significant support, please feel free to email me to let the College know mharrison@padua.vic.edu.au

Government Financial Loans

Also, if your family is in financial distress or you know of others in this circumstance, the following links might be useful:

Household Relief is the latest Government and Good Shepherd partnership which offers 24 month interest free loans of up to $3000 and this can be used to pay for household bills such as rent and utilities. https://householdrelief.org.au/

No Interest Loans are available government loans for up to $1800. https://nils.com.au/

Padua Parent Group

With all students and staff now back learning remotely, we are continuing to wait for better opportunities, perhaps in term four. Stay tuned later in the term!
