Padua College students across all campuses have an incredible array of sports that they can participate in over their time at the College. The beginning of the school year is always an extremely busy time and this year is no exception. Please take note of the following sporting opportunities for term 1:

Inter House Swimming Carnivals
The Inter House Swimming Carnival provides an opportunity for all students to represent their respective Houses. The carnival program includes a full range of events, including novelty events and makes for an enjoyable day for all. Campus swimming carnivals will take place as follows:

Rosebud Year 7-9 Swimming Carnival Friday 14 February
Tyabb Year 7-9 Swimming Carnival Friday 21 February
Mornington Year 7-9 Swimming Carnival Monday 24 February
Mornington Year 10-12 Swimming Carnival Thursday 19 March

Carnivals are compulsory for all students in Years 7, 8 and 9 with the emphasis on participation. Carnicals for students in Years 10-12 remain optional.

College Swimming Squad
We offer all students the opportunity to join the College Swimming Squad and this allows students the chance to train with specific training programs and individual coaching in order to prepare for the SIS Swimming Championships in April.
Mornington Campus
Tuesday and Thursday mornings commencing Thursday 6 February and up until Thursday 26 March.
Tuesdays 7:00am- 8:15 am
Thursday 7:30- 8:15 am
Students are expected to make their own way to Mornington Secondary College and Padua Staff will escort students back to school after training.

Rosebud Campus
Monday mornings commencing Monday 10 February and up until Monday 23 March.
Students are expected to make their own way to Peninsula Swimming & Aquatic Centre and will be bused to school after training.

Tyabb Campus
Wednesday mornings commencing Wednesday 12 February up until Wednesday 25 March.
Students are expected to make their own way to Core 24 Core 24 Somerville Health & Fitness Gym and will be bused to school after training.

Geelong Swimming Camp
The Annual Padua College, Swimming Camp will be held from Tuesday 10 - Thursday 12 March.
This optional camp is offered to Padua Students interested in improving their swimming. Further information will be distributed via Care Monkey.

Year 7-9 Inter Campus Swimming Trials
The Inter Campus Swimming Trials take place Thursday 19 March and provide students with an opportunity to swim in a competitive setting at the Pines Pool. Each lane will be timed and compared to records for the corresponding age group. Students will be invited to attend based on their results and performance at the Inter House Carnivals and attendance at Swimming Training.

SIS Swimming Team Bathers
Students can purchase these at the Mornington Dobson’s Uniform Shop (CASH ONLY).
Girls $60, Women's $69, Boys & Men's $50

SIS Weekly Sport
SIS Sport is a weekly sporting competition in which Padua College competes against other independent schools within the region. This competition takes place on Thursday and Friday afternoons.
Sports available to students this term include:
Year 11 & 12 Students (Thursday afternoons) - Girls Basketball, Girls Soccer, Boys Soccer and Boys Indoor Cricket
Year 9 & 10 Students (Friday afternoons) - Girls Handball, Girls Volleyball, Boys Indoor Cricket, Boys Handball

Cross-country Training
Mornington Campus- Cross Country training will start next week running every Monday and Thursday after school (3:15-4:15 pm). Meet outside the hall. Everyone is welcome, it does not matter what your running ability is!
Rosebud Campus- Cross Country Training will start next Thursday at 7.30am. All sessions will be held at Padua Rosebud.
Tyabb Campus - Running club will start next Thursday at lunchtime.

School Surf League
Wednesday 26 February at Mordialloc Life Saving Club
School Surf League is an exciting event in Life Saving Victoria’s sport calendar. The league is a competition that introduces Secondary School students into surf sports as well as teaches lifesaving related skills. School Surf League provides students with an alternative sporting experience that tests endurance, strength, speed and agility in the most natural sporting arena – the beach.
The format of the league comprises of activities relating to surf swimming, beach sprints, beach flags and board paddling. It enables students to challenge their abilities against themselves, the environment and students from other schools.

‘GirlsSail’
Friday 28 February at Davey’s Bay Yacht Club
The regatta runs between 8:00am and 5.30pm and is open to female secondary school students. The regatta will be in its fourteenth year and attracts girls from both Government and Independent schools from across Victoria.

TRI2gether Triathlon Program
Students will learn everything they need to know about swim, bike and run over six weeks before putting it all together in a mini fun-tri at the Safety Beach Sufferfest Triathlon.
TRI2gether offers students:

A Sporting challenge without direct competition against others
An opportunity to share the experience with friends and peers
Golf Victoria- Inter Association Golf
Monday 16 March at Waverley Golf Club

We encourage all students to take up the many opportunities offered by Padua in the area of Sport this year. It is a great way to make new friends, improve your skills, self-esteem and to get the most of out of your time at Padua College. You do not need to be the fastest, most talented or the best at your Sport; you just need to give it a go. Padua Equestrian Team

We would like welcome any new students who would like to join the Padua College Equestrian team this year.

The Padua College Equestrian team members participate in a variety of disciplines including Dressage, Showjumping, Eventing, Combined Training and Show riding. Students are able to compete in a variety of Interschool Equestrian Competitions throughout the school year and they cater for a range of riding abilities. Riders and parents are kept informed of events and competitions via email and the Interschool websites.
