Padua College Opening Mass

The College Opening Mass will be held on Thursday 20 February at 7.30pm at our Mornington Campus.

The College Opening Mass is always a wonderful occasion as we celebrate the beginning of a new school year. All are welcome to our celebration.
In particular, all Year 7 students and new students to the College in other year levels are requested to attend with your families, to be acknowledged as new member of our community and to receive a blessing for their time with us.

Year 7 students will sit with their House Co-ordinator and homeroom teacher at the front of the congregation.

In addition, all student leaders in any capacity on each of the campuses are also required to attend so that they can take their leadership pledge and receive a blessing for their work.

We greatly look forward to seeing you on the night.

Prayer

This year our St Anthony prayer reflects the theme of ‘Light’.

ST ANTHONY PRAYER

We pray for all students, staff and families in our Padua school community

that we might seek to live the example that St Anthony of Padua is to us all.

The light of God’s truth shone brightly in his heart,

flowing over into the passion of his preaching

and the love with which he met all people,

particularly the poor and dispirited.

May the same light shine in us and our school community throughout this year,

and in everything we do as a school community blessed by his name.

Amen.

St Vinnies Bushfire Appeal

When we gather for our whole College Opening Assembly next Tuesday 11 February, we will take the opportunity to have a school-wide appeal for the St Vinnies Bushfire Appeal. The assembly will include a liturgy focusing on the College Year of Light and how we can be a light to others, particularly in their darkest times. We ask that students bring a gold coin donation if they are able to do so.

We thank you for your support.
