CAROLINE JEREMIAH
DEPUTY PRINCIPAL, MORNINGTON YEAR 10-12 CAMPUS
The past fortnight in the Senior School has been filled with excitable energy and moments of real pride as we celebrated the final weeks of our Year 12 students’ time at the College. It is always a special time of year, with a combination of reflection, achievement, and anticipation for what lies ahead.
We began the week with the Year 12 House Farewell Assemblies. Each House celebrated its graduating students, sharing memories, laughter, and a few tears as our senior students officially said goodbye to their younger peers and Homeroom teacher. The sense of community and connection within each House was truly evident.
That same evening, the College hosted both the VCE Vocational Major Portfolio Information Evening and the Visual Arts & Technology Exhibition. The Whyte Building was buzzing with families admiring the incredible creativity and innovation on display. From design pieces to artworks and major projects, the standard was outstanding and a true credit to our talented students and staff.
Our celebrations continued with two very special Year 12 Graduation Masses & Ceremonies held on Thursday 16th and Monday 20th October for each of the four Houses. These commemorative nights offered the opportunity to pause, reflect, and give thanks for the journey our students have shared together. Seeing each student presented with their certificate with such pride from their Homeroom Teachers and House Coordinators provided a picture perfect moment.
The following morning brought one of the most anticipated events of the year, the Year 12 Celebration Morning. Our graduating students arrived in creative costumes, sharing breakfast and laughter before the parade through the College. It was a fitting and joy-filled farewell before they turn their focus to exams and life beyond school.
While our Year 12s were celebrating, our Year 9 students were busy preparing for the next stage of their learning via a Yr10 Transition Day at the Senior Campus. This day plays an important role in helping students feel informed, increase their confidence and excited about the opportunities that lie ahead in Senior School.
As our VCAA written examinations begin, we wish every Year 12 student the very best. We know they will approach these final weeks with focus and determination. We pray for a calm mind, focus and God’s grace during this final stage of their schooling.
It has been a privilege to walk alongside this graduating class and witness their growth, leadership, and sense of community. Thank you to all our families and staff for your continued encouragement and support during this milestone period. The strength of our Padua community continues to shine through and for that, we are truly grateful.
