The Music Department has been busy with several events over the past week including an SIS Concert, Top Acts Concert, and an outdoor music event at the Mornington Campus.

SIS Performance Concert

Over 60 students from our Rosebud, Tyabb, and Mornington Campuses attended the annual SIS Performance Concert evening as part of the big night concert at the Drum theatre last Tuesday, 19 March. Parents were treated to a variety of performances from the bands, choirs, dancers and the Padua jazz ensemble item.

Top Acts

Amelia Craigie (Year 12 MacKillop) and her VET performance band were invited to perform at the annual Top Acts Concert on Thursday 21 March at the Melbourne Recital Centre. The concert showcases students who received a perfect score for their VCE or VET music performance exam, and Amelia’s performance prompted the audience to break out in spontaneous applause, demonstrating how much they appreciated her performance. Congratulations Amelia.

Music on the Lawn

The inaugural Music on the Lawn event was held Thursday 21 March and featured students from the Year 10 music class, VCE and VET Music students, as well as many of the extracurricular bands, ensembles, and vocal groups. The event highlighted how much students enjoy performing as part of the Padua music community, and the cameo, special guest appearances from the drama and dance students topped off the wonderful display of talent and community connection. We would like to thank all of the teachers who organised and supported these events and students, and all of those who attended the events to support our young performers over a very busy week.

We are excited and look forward to more performance opportunities in Term Two.

Director of Performing Arts
