A World of Creativity and Opportunity
At Padua College, the Performing Arts are vibrant, inspiring, and full of opportunity. From Year 7 through to VCE, students are encouraged to explore, create, and perform through dynamic Drama and Music programs that build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
Drama
Drama at Padua begins with improvisation and expressive movement in Year 7, progressing through character development, issue-based theatre, and performance-making by Year 9. In Year 10, students gain real-world experience by creating theatre for primary audiences and attending professional performances. Senior students can pursue VCE Drama or VCE Theatre Studies, where they explore ensemble and solo performance, direction, design, and production — developing both artistic and leadership skills.
Music
Music offers equally rich opportunities for students of all skill levels. Whether through performance, theory, music technology, or songwriting, students experience a wide range of styles from classical to contemporary. Options include Year 9 and 10 Music, VCE Music Performance, and VCE VET Music Performance – Certificate III, which provides hands-on industry experience and contributes to both the ATAR and VCE VM pathways.
Beyond the classroom, Padua’s co-curricular Performing Arts program is extensive and inclusive. Students can join more than 30 bands and ensembles, perform in concerts and community events throughout the year, and take part in our much-anticipated biennial musical productions and senior plays.
With passionate and expert staff, state-of-the-art facilities including the St Clare Performing Arts Centre and its 300-seat Performance Studio, and a supportive community that celebrates creativity, the Performing Arts at Padua College is a place where every student can discover their voice, share their talents, and truly shine.
Learning Areas
At Padua College, students are at the heart of what we do. We help young people discover their passions and grow their talents so they can live purposefully and make an impact on their community.
Curriculum Explorer
We know that a child who discovers their passions and reveals their talents has the most powerful driver to find motivation, purpose, and direction in life.
