Transition to Secondary School
The move from primary to secondary school is one of the most significant and exciting milestones in a student’s life.
At Padua College, we see this time as an exciting opportunity for growth. Embracing a new environment, building friendships, and confidently stepping into the journey from childhood to adolescence.
Our Transition Program is designed to support students through this change, building their wellbeing, resilience and confidence.

- Connecting with Grade 6 students through their primary schools.
- Welcome to Padua meeting, where students share their interests and aspirations for secondary school.
- Academic testing to support well-balanced Year 7 classes.
- Orientation Day to meet peers and get to know the campus.
- Parent Information Night to equip families for the year ahead.
- A Year 9 Peer Support program providing positive role models to guide and mentor Year 7 students.
- Year 7 camp at commencement of the year to nurture connections, foster friendships, and strengthen a sense of community.
I was nervous about attending the Year 7 camp. However, I put my personal feelings aside and ended up really enjoying the activities which were all about teamwork and trusting each other

My advice for new Year 7’s is get involved with extracurricular activities as you will make loads of friends
