Human trafficking is often thought of as something that only happens overseas, but the reality is that it exists here in Australia. 

ACRATH (Australian Catholic Religious Against Trafficking in Humans) is a national organisation working to end modern slavery through education, advocacy and support for victim-survivors. By raising awareness in communities, ACRATH encourages Australians to recognise the signs of human trafficking and take action to protect those who are most vulnerable. Their work reminds us that everyone deserves to live with dignity, freedom and hope.

College Captain, Charlee D, was introduced to ACRATH through the College Social Justice Program and chose to raise funds and awareness for the organisation by participating in the 10km Run Melbourne 2026 event for the second year. 

“Thank you to everyone who donated, encouraged me and helped raise awareness of a cause that deserves far greater attention. I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to support such an important cause and hope it encourages others to get involved in ways that are meaningful to them,” says Charlee.

“Every dollar raised will assist ACRATH to continue educating communities, advocating for stronger protections and supporting people whose lives have been impacted by modern slavery. While my run was just short, the impact of this organisation continues every day.”
