Professional Performer Inspires Next Generation of Artists

We were thrilled to welcome acclaimed Australian performer Rohan Browne to Padua College in August, where he worked with our VCE VET Music and Theatre Studies students, sharing insights drawn from a career spanning some of Australia's most celebrated stage productions, including The Boy From Oz, West Side Story, Cats, Strictly Ballroom and Singin' in the Rain

Rohan challenged our Music students to think beyond simply performing songs and consider the atmosphere, audience experience and storytelling behind their performances, while Theatre Studies students explored character, text analysis and the subtle choices that bring a monologue to life.

Year 12 student Chloe, who was fortunate to have attended both workshops, reflected “Alongside his guidance, his knowledge about the industry sparked inspiration for new ideas for our performance development, that has helped shape our goals.”

Rohan’s ability to connect professional industry practice with the students' own creative work made for an inspiring and highly valuable learning experience.
