Students from the Padua College Concert Band and Training Band recently came together from our Mornington, Rosebud and Tyabb Campuses for a memorable day of music-making in the St Clare Performing Arts Centre.

Working alongside musicians from the Royal Australian Navy Band, students received valuable encouragement, tips and insights from experienced Navy personnel. Navy conductor Lieutenant Matthew Booth led the Concert Band, focusing on playing with accuracy, confidence and musical intent. Meanwhile, our own Mrs Kate Makikostas guided the Training Band through an engaging workshop, creating a warm and supportive environment for our developing musicians.

The day concluded with a spectacular performance by the Royal Australian Navy Band, enjoyed by band students and several Music and Drama classes. The ensemble showcased an entertaining and professional program featuring military marches, show tunes, orchestral arrangements and much-loved Australian classics.

Adding to the excitement, students also had the opportunity to meet and take photos with Laura Campbell (Class of 2014), highlighting the strong connections between past and present members of the Padua community.

It was an inspiring experience that left our young musicians motivated, challenged and excited about their musical journeys.
