After considerable feedback and research within the College Community, Padua has implemented a Choose Your Own Device Program (CYOD) in 2018 for electronic devices beginning with Year 7 students.
Students must select one of the following Apple or Dell devices.
Dell Latitude 3190
11.6 HD LCD
Dell Latitude 3380
13.3 HD LCD
128GB or 256GB SSD
MacBook Air 13.3
128GB SSD or 256GB SSD
You are free to purchase one of the prescribed laptops from any supplier, as long as it is exactly the same model and matches or exceeds the technical specifications listed above. To make this process easier, Padua College has negotiated special education deals on laptop packages with a company called CompNow. The prices can be found via the CompNow CYOD Portal 2018/2019 Padua portal and include a variety of payment options. However, you are free to purchase your child's laptop from any company you see fit.
IMPORTANT Padua will provide a FREE copy of Microsoft office to all students for the duration of their enrolments.
The Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program at Padua remains unchanged. That is students can use any device to do work at the college excluding mobile phones and Google Chromebooks devices. Whilst not mandatory, if you choose to purchase a new laptop we do recommend that students purchase one of the devices listed above including a 3 year accidental coverage protection. If you have any questions about the program, or the devices please feel free to contact us (http://www.padua.vic.edu.au/contact-us/) via phone or email.
