Padua Parent Page

As you will have read elsewhere in this edition of the Paduan, we are experiencing a sad and difficult time in the Padua community at the moment. Some of you may well have had challenging conversations with daughters or sons about grief and loss. Please know we are here to support you in whatever way we can, and if you are concerned at all about your children, please let their Homeroom Teacher or House Co-ordinator know.

Thank you to all the parents who attended the ‘Engage, Consult and Advise’ session on the new Year 9 Program two weeks ago. The ideas generated from the meeting will be taken up by Mark DeFazio as he continues to plan for the program, and we are very grateful for your time and enthusiasm in being involved. I’m sure it will lead to a better interim program in 2018 and will enhance the success of the whole program in 2019 and beyond.

In Term 4 we are planning to look at the College Social Media policy and broader concerns about social media use in the ‘Engage, Consult and Advise’ session. At the moment we haven’t locked anything specific in for Term 3, so please let me know if there is something you would like us to consider.

Tuesday, 13 June at 7.30pm (Rosebud Campus)

It would be wonderful to have as many parents as possible to the second of our meetings this term, again at Rosebud Campus in the Library.

The second meeting each term is our ‘work’ meeting to organise the range of events and activities we have in planning. But we will also continue our conversation about ways of further engaging parents.

The agenda for this meeting includes:

  • continuing our conversation about ways of further engaging parents in the Padua community at school, campus and house levels
  • organising the Parent Forum in Term 3
  • co-ordinating the school’s involvement in the Arthurs Seat Challenge in Term 4
  • other business as required

As always, if you would like to email me with any thoughts, questions or suggestions, please feel free to do so. I’d love to hear from you.
