BYOD Computer Info

Our students have grown up in a digital world — they’re tech-savvy, hyper-communicative and active learners. Apple products are designed not only to be as engaging as this world students live in, but also to help students develop the skills they need for the future.

From the commencement of the 2017 academic year, it is a requirement that all students in

  • Years 7 to 9 at Padua College are required to have an iPad. (32GB Minimum Capacity)
  • For students in Year 10-12 the iPad is the minimum requirement, but you can also “BYOD – Bring Your Own Device” to support their learning.

Below you can download documents relating to these programs, including the full Digital Technologies Policy which outlines the use of the intranet, internet and digital technologies as well as details in relation to iPad/BYOD procurement.

To assist you with the purchasing process, the College has developed 2 online options

  • Church Resources – In partnership with Church Resources, Padua College offers a range of competitively priced iPad packages that can be purchased through the College portal under Parent Information. Church resources offer prompt free home delivery with no finance charges on purchases.
  • Apple Southland – We have also developed a custom built page in conjunction with the Apple Shop which ensures that you’re buying the Apple device your student needs, and it offers all the same great features of the regular Apple Online Store, at reduced costs, including free delivery.

Whilst parents have complete choice of where to purchase their student iPads and covers, the College recommends a device with a minimum of 32GB capacity and previous experience has shown that the Griffin Survivor case has proven to be a robust option.
