Berwick Show

The Berwick Show marks the start of the show season for our Padua College miniature goat show team. Over half of the handlers this year are our Year 10 Animal Studies VET students who are taking part in their first ever show and gaining practical handling skills, goat grooming and preparation skills, and work experience hours which will count towards their course. It was pleasing to see Sacha Taylor, Year 12 John XXIII, placing second in handlers and Andrew Leonard–Patterson, Year 10 Kolbe, taking out third place in handlers in his very first time handling a goat.

To top everything off, Riverstone Heart Breaker won Best of Breed Nigerian Dwarf. This win was a highlight for Padua and made all of us very proud. This success played a key part as to why Riverstone Miniature Goats and Padua College were awarded Best Exhibitor and Best Breeder. A big thank you to Mrs Nichols and Mrs Doherty for committing to the show and to Maddy Male, Year 12 John XXIII, for stewarding the show. We are looking forward to the Red Hill Show on Saturday 10 March.
